Hello everyone! Hope you’re all having a wonderful week so far 🙂
Writing on the go is a common, everyday occurrence for writers. Whether you’re in between meetings are just going out for a cup of coffee, we’ve all had that moment where we get an idea out and about and have to get it down right there and then.
These can be used even when you’re not on the go as well, whatever you prefer.
1. CARRY A NOTEBOOK WITH YOU
I mentioned this in an earlier post. Carry a notebook with you so if you have an idea you can write it straight down. Or if you prefer technology, use your phone/iPad/ etc. whichever you prefer!
Now I’m not saying follow people round (definitely not!) just observe your surroundings and the people in them. I.e. if you’re having a cup of tea in a coffee house observe the atmosphere, the colours of the walls, what paper the man in the blue suit is reading etc. It helps with your overall awareness and gets the descriptive bit of your brain (very scientific term there!) working!
3. KEEP UP WITH THE NEWS
Download some news apps on to your phone i.e. BBC so whilst you’re on the go you can keep up with what’s going on in the world. There’s plenty of stories to read and many authors have produced their own stories based on the current affairs at the time. So keep up with the world’s news, so you can be aware of the world around you and also can be a basis for some new material.
Hope this was useful! Happy Friday! 🙂
