LUSH Review!: Dream Cream

Hello everyone! 🙂

So, I’ve been looking at when I last did a Lush review and figured one was WELL overdue! So today, I’m going to be reviewing a product I’ve been using for a few months now: Dream Cream!

I was given this hand and body lotion (the self-preserving formula) a few months ago by my mother (thanks Momma!). Up until recently my experience with Lush never really went past some bath bombs and the odd bit of skincare.

So, here is the description of this product on the Lush UK website:

“Softer than freshly-laundered clouds and a gentle oat milk rain; this herbal delicacy has the consistency of cool liquid silk.

Rich, cooling and protective to the skin, the combination of calming chamomile, organic, extra virgin olive oil and creamy, Fair Trade, organic cocoa butter soothes and hydrates.

Sweep all over the body to bedew your skin with fields of soothing lavender and Turkish rose to lull your skin back to tranquillity. Feel serene and petal-soft from top to toe.”

I have quite dry skin on my body and I also have Keratosis Pilaris, a harmless skin condition, “where the skin becomes rough and bumpy, as if covered in permanent goose pimples.” (as referenced by the NHS UK website).

I was recommended Aveeno cream a few years back as it has oatmeal in it which is good for KP. I used it and it’s a great product, but I was wanting to try a more natural alternative that doesn’t test on animals.

Dream Cream is vegan as well.

The smell is quite earthy. You can definitely smell the oat milk and the subtle tones of lavender so it’s not super sweet.

It takes a bit of getting used to but I personally quite like it. I find it very soothing and calming. If you’re not a fan of earthy smelling products, I wouldn’t recommend this product for you.

I found this lotion incredibly moisturising for my dry skin and once it’s sunk in it feels supple and soft.

Using some of my favourite Lush products, followed by Dream Cream and snuggled in pyjamas is heavenly!

The consistency of this product is smooth and luxurious feeling but word of warning, a little bit goes a long way!

I made the mistake of using a little too much when I first started using it and as it has a lot of olive oil (especially with it being self-preserving) it doesn’t have a fast absorption rate. So go sparingly!

I’ve also heard it’s apparently good for helping to heal tattoos (after watching a review by Youtuber Kiera Rose).

Now, I don’t have any tattoos so I can’t vouch for the product on that ground but if you want to see Kiera’s video, it’s linked below. Check out her videos, they’re awesome. She mentions Dream Cream at around the 13 minute mark. (Disclaimer: I’m not sponsored by Kiera Rose, Lush or any affiliates.)

I found it does calm any Keratosis Pilaris I may have but it doesn’t make it completely disappear like Aveeno can do if you use it regularly. That being said, I’m not mad at that as I’m not majorly self-conscious about my KP.

So overall, I’d say it’s a very good product that’d definitely be worth your money if you’re looking for a natural, calming and decent cruelty free lotion.

I would recommend this product.

Hope you enjoyed this post, guys!

Happy Monday! 🙂
